Toshiba was prompted to establish the Flexible Workplace SIG following the ‘ Mobility and Mistrust ' research report that showed there were many advantages and of course challenges for organisations and employees in adopting a flexible workplace.

Role of the SIG

• Provide leadership in the development of flexible workplace practices in Australia and New Zealand
• Create a network of flexible workplace experts and resources
• Help organisations understand the issues and develop solutions for successful flexible working

The SIG comprises two categories: Members and Associates .

Members

For development of the Guide to flexible working, members have relevant areas of expertise

• Organisational culture
• IT and HR management

Special Interest Group Members

Associates

SIG associates include those who have a clear commitment to flexible working and are willing to share their knowledge and expertise, although, in the case of Toshiba, has a commercial interest through the provision of mobile computing systems and services.
